Mews, A Very Quick MeowSpace® Learner!
CLICK FOR MORE CUSTOMER REVIEWS… Just received from a recent MeowSpace® customer, Marie S., from San Francisco: Hi Casey, I just wanted to send you a quick update–the Meowspace arrived very quickly, and when we found an evening early last week to set it up we were both surprised that it only took a few minutes! Excellent instructions, very easy to follow. We taped open the door for two days and fed the cats some treats inside so they were very comfortable with it. Then it was time to teach Mews, the Meowspace cat, how to use it. It only took one time! I spent 20 or so minutes showing him how it works, motivating him to come in and out with his favorite treat, bonito flakes. He didn’t really push the door by himself with me there, and both going in and out I had to start him gently on his way through, but it was late so I put some dry food inside and went to bed. In the morning the food inside the Meowspace was more »
The MeowSpace® RFID Cat Feeder
The MeowSpace® RFID cat feeder / litter box enclosure works much like the magnetic cat feeder, but using an RFID collar tag instead of a magnetic collar tag. While the magnetic tag works by a slight tugging downward to unlatch the locked flap as your cat enters, the RFID tag triggers the latch to unlock electronically as your cat enters. The cat begins to push on the door, and there is a “CH” sound. They soon associate that sound with the opening of the door. 4 AA Batteries are required, but they are included in your MeowSpace® when you receive it, and we always pre-program the RFID tag before shipping. That way, all you need to do is unpack the MeowSpace®, set it up where you want it, and begin the training process. Both feeding systems work equally well. If two or more feeding systems are needed, one can be the magnetic feeder, and the other(s) would need to be the RFID systems. This is because the RFID systems can all be programmed differently. The MeowSpace® Magnetic Cat Feeder
The MeowSpace® Magnetic Cat Feeder / Litter Enclosure works via a magnet attached to your pet’s collar. As your cat begins to enter, the magnet hangs at just the right place to trigger the latch to unlock. The moment the flap is opened and your cat is entering, the latch goes back to the lock position. This way, when your cat is fully inside and the flap swings shut, it is locked so that other pets cannot get inside the enclosure. The magnetic system works very well, and even the smallest, feeblest cats seem not to notice the magnet hanging on their collars. We offer collars for sale, but almost any collar will do, so if your kitty already has one, simply attach the magnet to the collar. Magnetic or RFID Cat Feeder System? That! is the Question
MeowSpace® offers the choice between using a Magnetic Door System or RFID (radio frequency identification device) System. The Magnetic System is much less expensive, and unless you have special circumstances which warrant the use of the RFID System, we always suggest going with the Magnetic. Both work equally well. The Magnetic System requires your pet to wear a 1-1/2 inch long magnet on its collar. This seems dauntingly heavy to us humans, but it seems even the most feeble of cats have no problem with it. They don’t appear even to know it’s there. I’m reminded of when my son, now 32, was 7, and I used to make him put on a coat, even when he wasn’t cold. He used to tease me by mocking me, “Put on a coat, Corey, Mommy’s cold.” I think we are like that with our furry family members, too. We think, “Oooh, that magnet is way too heavy for my little darling.” In truth, it’s not at all too heavy, and cats and small dogs all over the country are proving more »
